05
The prize
There is one prize: the design and build of one single-page business website, together with 12 months of hosting supplied by Yorkshire Digital.
The prize includes:
- One website page.
- A contact form.
- A mobile-friendly design.
- Two rounds of revisions.
- Hosting for 12 months from the website's launch date.
Each revision round means one consolidated list of reasonable amendments supplied by the winner. Additional pages, major changes of scope, further revisions, copywriting, brand design, photography, e-commerce, booking systems, bespoke integrations and other additional work are not included, but may be quoted separately if requested.
06
Included hosting, domain and third-party costs
Yorkshire Digital will host the completed website without charge for 12 months. The included period begins on the date the completed website is first made publicly available on the winner's domain.
The winner is responsible for registering and paying for their chosen domain name. A standard domain commonly costs approximately £6–£12 per year, but the actual price depends on the domain, registrar and renewal terms. Yorkshire Digital will help connect the domain to the website.
Included hosting covers keeping the agreed website online. It does not include ongoing content changes, additional revisions, new pages or features, business email, premium software, paid plugins, stock photography or other third-party charges. Any optional additions will only be supplied after the winner accepts a separate quotation.
Before the included hosting period ends, the winner may choose to continue Yorkshire Digital's managed hosting service for £20 per month or arrange compatible hosting elsewhere. Continuing with Yorkshire Digital is entirely optional, no payment will be taken automatically and any continued service will be covered by a separate agreement. If the winner chooses another provider, Yorkshire Digital will provide reasonable website files or handover materials appropriate to the agreed build method. Domain registration and renewal remain the winner's responsibility.
07
Winner selection
After the closing time, all valid entries will be placed into a random draw. One winner will be selected using Easypromos or another verifiably random computer process. Yorkshire Digital will retain evidence of the draw, including the participant list and the platform's certificate or result record.
The draw will take place within three business days after the closing date.
08
Winner notification and acceptance
The winner will be contacted by direct message from the official Yorkshire Digital Facebook Page. Yorkshire Digital will never ask the winner to pay a fee to claim the website build.
The winner must respond within seven days of the first notification. If the winner does not respond, cannot demonstrate eligibility or declines the prize, another winner may be selected at random from the remaining valid entries using the same method.
09
Website project and timescale
After accepting the prize, the winner must provide the requested business information, wording, branding, images and approvals within the timescales reasonably requested by Yorkshire Digital. The winner is responsible for ensuring that they own, or have permission to use, all supplied content.
The project is intended to be completed within 60 days of the winner providing all required content and accepting the agreed website brief. Delays caused by missing content, late feedback or changes requested by the winner may extend this timescale.
The website will be designed for the agreed business and purpose. Work falling outside the prize scope will only be carried out after the winner has accepted a separate written quotation.
10
Intellectual property
The winner retains ownership of content and branding they supply. After completion, the winner will receive rights to use the finished website for their business. Yorkshire Digital retains ownership of its pre-existing tools, code libraries, templates, development methods and other materials that were not created specifically for the winner.
Yorkshire Digital may show the completed website in its portfolio and marketing as an example of its work.
11
Publicity and proof of award
Yorkshire Digital may announce the winning business and tag its Facebook Page. To demonstrate that a valid award took place, the winner's surname and county may be made available to people who request this information within 30 days after the draw.
Entrants can object to, or ask us to reduce, the personal information made available by emailing connor@yorkshiredigital.co.uk. This will not affect their chance of winning. Yorkshire Digital may still provide winner information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required.
12
Data protection
Personal information will be used to administer the prize draw, verify eligibility, contact the winner and deliver the prize. Entrants will not be added to an email marketing list solely because they entered. Information will be handled in accordance with the Yorkshire Digital Privacy Notice.
13
Facebook disclaimer
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook or Meta. By entering, participants release Facebook and Meta from responsibility for matters relating to this promotion, to the extent permitted by law.
14
General terms
The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is available.
Yorkshire Digital may disqualify an entry where there are reasonable grounds to believe these terms have been breached or an entrant has attempted to manipulate the draw.
If circumstances outside Yorkshire Digital's reasonable control make it necessary to amend, suspend or cancel the promotion, Yorkshire Digital will act fairly, minimise disappointment and provide an equivalent prize where reasonably possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction.
These terms should be read alongside the significant conditions stated in the official Facebook giveaway post.
